Most people think you have to go to a salon to get a new, stylish haircut. But that’s not always the case! There are plenty of trendy and fun hairstyles you can do at home with just a few simple tools. So if you’re feeling adventurous or want to switch things up a bit, check out these cool styles. You might find your new favorite look.
Hairstyles that real people can do at home
I’m not a stylist. So I don’t know how to do any of those crazy hairstyles you see on Instagram. But I know how to do a few simple styles that look great and are easy to do at home. So here are a few of my favorite hairstyles for busy moms:
The half-up, half-down style is one of the easiest styles out there. Pull half of your hair into a ponytail or bun and leave the rest down. This style looks great with straight or curly hair and can be dressed up or down depending on where you’re going.
Another easy style is the top knot. This one is perfect for the second (or third) day of hair when you don’t have time to wash it. Pull all of your hair up into a high ponytail and then twist it into a bun. Secure it with a few bobby pins, and you’re good to go!
If you have longer hair, the waterfall braid is a beautiful option. It looks complicated, but it’s pretty easy once you get the hang of it. Start by creating a regular three-strand braid, and then drop the middle strand over the other two as you continue braiding. Keep going until you reach the end of your hair and secure it with an elastic.
Finally, my favorite style for long or short hair is the fishtail braid. This one does take a little bit of practice, but it’s worth it. Start by dividing your hair into two sections. Take a small piece of hair from the outside of one section and add it to the other section. Then, take a small piece of hair from the outside of the other section and add it to the first section. Keep going until you reach the end of your hair and secure it with an elastic.
Funny hairstyle experiments
If you’re looking for some fun and creative hairstyles to experiment with at home, look no further! Here are a few ideas to get you started:
- Try a new color: If you’ve always wanted to try a new hair color but weren’t sure if it would suit you, now is the perfect time to experiment! You can find temporary hair colors at most drugstores or mix your own using food coloring. Just do a patch test first to make sure you don’t have any allergies.
- Get playful with braids: Braids are a great way to add interest to any hairstyle. Try something simple like a three-strand braid, or go for something elaborate like a fishtail braid. If you’re feeling adventurous, you can even try braiding your hair upside down!
- Try a new style: If you usually wear your hair down, why not try something different? For example, put it up in a messy bun or ponytail, or try out some cool new styles like box braids or cornrows.
- Have fun with accessories: There’s no need to wait for a special occasion to break out the sparkly hair clips or headbands. Instead, use them to add a touch of glamour to any hairstyle, day or night!
So go ahead and have some fun experimenting with your hair. You might be surprised at what you come up with!
